01

Who we are

This site is operated by Half Shell Studios in connection with the legal entity you see on our invoices, proposals, or email signatures in business with us. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” in these terms mean that service provider.

02

What these terms cover

These terms apply to this public marketing site and your use of it — for example reading pages, submitting an enquiry, or following a link to book or email us. They are in addition to (not instead of) any project contract, NDA, DPA, or other agreement we may sign for work you pay for; where something conflicts on a specific point, the signed document for that engagement usually wins (read both together).

03

Who the site is for

The site is aimed at businesses and people acting in a professional capacity, not as consumers in the high-street sense. If you are only a consumer, some of the laws that help consumers may also apply; nothing here is an attempt to mislead you about your statutory rights, but a separate conversation may be needed if a situation is genuinely B2C.

04

What you may do

You may use the site for legitimate purposes that match what it is for: learning what we do, getting in touch, and booking or emailing us as offered. You may also print or save a reasonable copy of pages for your own internal reference, provided you do not strip our branding or misrepresent who created the content in a public context.

05

What you must not do

You agree not to use the site to:

  • break UK or other applicable law, or to harm, harass, or mislead anyone;
  • send spam, unlawful content, or malware;
  • try to access our systems, accounts, or data you are not meant to (including probing, excessive automated scraping that impairs the service, or bypassing access controls) except where the law unavoidably allows;
  • misuse our forms or email with fake identities, bombardment, or claims you know are false;
  • use our trademarks or branding in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership we have not given in writing if that matters.

We can suspend or stop your access to the site or ignore certain messages if we reasonably believe the safety or integrity of the service, our people, or other users is at risk — in serious cases we can also work with hosts and authorities where the law allows.

06

The site and third-party services

Links from us

The site may link to other sites or tools (for example a scheduling provider, hosting CDNs, or embeds). We do not control their terms or privacy practices. You are responsible for reading their rules if you use them, and for leaving our site when you do.

No endorsement

A link is not a guarantee of quality or suitability; it is for convenience only unless we say otherwise in a dedicated piece of work.

07

Content is not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, accounting, insurance, health, or other professional advice you should rely on to make a regulated or one-way decision (for example filing something in court) without your own advisers. The site and its text are for general information in a B2B context only.

08

No warranty (site as-is)

We work to keep the site useful and accurate at a summary level, but we do not promise the site is uninterrupted, error-free, or completely free of bugs or vulnerabilities. The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the extent permitted by law — including implied warranties, where those can be validly limited in our jurisdiction for a B2B information site. If you are relying on a date (for example a “last updated” line) for legal precision, you should also ask us in writing for confirmation if the matter is serious.

09

Intellectual property

Branding, layout, and text (except where we state a licence or use third-party materials on their terms) belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other rights, unless a separate written agreement gives you more. You do not get a general right to reuse or distribute our materials in public or in competing work except for normal fair dealing or citation the law may allow without a separate licence.

Feedback you volunteer about our public materials does not on its own give you ownership of our existing work; it may help us improve the site without us owing you a fee, credit, or other rights, unless we agree something else in writing in a commercial relationship with separate compensation.

10

If you are a client or supplier

Work, invoices, warranties, confidentiality, and data in a client or supplier relationship are set out in the relevant agreements, not on this page. This site’s terms are for use of the public website and enquiry path only.

11

Limitation of our liability to you (website use)

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you for indirect or consequential losses, including (without limitation) loss of profit, reputation, opportunity, or goodwill, arising from your use of this public website (other than in connection with a separate signed project agreement, which is governed by that agreement).

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to any provisions that cannot be excluded in the UK, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the use of this site and these website terms (in any 12-month period) is limited to £100, except that nothing in these terms is intended to limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law does not allow that to be limited, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that may not be excluded under applicable law. Serious or bespoke work is normally covered by separate agreements with their own limits. If a part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of these terms remain in effect to the extent permitted (severability).

12

You indemnify us (within reason)

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us (and, where it makes sense, our directors and staff) harmless from third-party claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise because you broke these terms or used the site in a way that harms a third party or breaks applicable law, in each case in connection with your use of the site, except to the extent a final court order or arbitration award shows we were principally at fault. This is a B2B-style clause; it does not affect your non-excludable statutory rights where the law does not allow them to be limited.

13

Viruses and your equipment

You are responsible for your own devices, browsers, and security (for antivirus and updates). We do not willingly run known malware; if you think something nasty is served from the site, let us know at once and we can check the infrastructure.

14

Changes to the site and to these terms

We can update the content and functionality of the site at any time. We can also update this text; the date at the top of this section (and in the in short block) is a guide to the version. If we make a change that matters for compliance or risk, we can also put a short note on the site or in other reasonable ways; repeated use of the site after material publication of a new version can indicate you read the new version where the law does not require a separate “click to accept” (for a read-only info site we keep this practical).

15

Governing law and jurisdiction

For your use of this public website and these terms, the laws of England and Wales apply, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction in relation to most disputes that concern the site only. If you and we have a separate signed agreement (for example a project contract) that names a different law or venue for work under that agreement, that agreement governs in relation to that work to the extent it says so clearly.

16

If there is a dispute (site use only)

We would rather resolve things sensibly than escalate for the sake of it. Write to us with enough detail for a reasonable reader to understand the issue; we can discuss and settle where that is fair and practical. Mandatory arbitration or a named ADR scheme is not the default in these website terms for a read-only marketing site; the courts and settlement discussions are the baseline for genuine disagreements that relate to the public site on its own, subject to the jurisdiction rules above and to laws that allow you to sue or defend where you live in some consumer or other cases.
